Who is taking part in the Symposium? 

4-year PhD programme:

 

  *   Year 1: Poster session

  *   Year 2: Lightning talk session (3 min talk + 2 min Q&A)

  *   Year 3: Long-form talk session (12 min talk + 3 min Q&A)

  *   Year 4: No obligation to participate, but you may contribute as desired.

 

3-year PhD programme:

 

  *   Year 1: Lightning talk session

  *   Year 2: Long-form talk session (12 min talk + 3 min Q&A)

  *   Year 3: No obligation to participate, but you may contribute as desired.

 

MPhil programme:

 

  *   Year 1: Poster session

  *   Year 2: No obligation to participate, but you may contribute as desired.

 

Research Assistant:

 

  *   Any year: Transition talk (3 min talk + 2 min Q&A)

  *   No obligation to participate, but you may contribute as desired.

* Student prizes will be awarded for Best Presentation and People's Choice for each session type.

​

Keynote talks will also be delivered by members of the faculty!

Who can attend the Symposium?  

Everyone is invited! All students, PIs, RAs, interns, and staff are more than welcome to come and support our graduate students. This is a great opportunity to network and discover what kind of research is happening within E&B. Attendees are encouraged to attend both days to support all presenters!

Where and when will the Symposium be held? 

The 3rd Annual EBRS will be held in-person on 2nd and 3rd May, 2024 in Rayson Huang Theatre & foyer, HKU (circled in red in the map below).

Will there be toilet/coffee breaks? 

There will be regular breaks during the Symposium for attendees to head to the bathroom, stretch their legs, and chat to other researchers. Attendees are encouraged to bring along their own reusable mugs as there will be plenty of coffee and tea available for everyone!
